Electricity in Pleasantville, NJ

by Donny on January 26, 2011

Not as many people would know of the town of Pleasantville if it weren’t the movie Pleasantville.

The New Jersey town is located in Atlantic County, about 68 southeast of Trenton,N.J., and has a population of about 19,012.

Pleasantville was actually incorporated as a city in 1914 to replace Pleasantville borough.

During the filming of the 1998 movie, Pleasantville residents were given a pin by the movie studio despite the fact the movie was actually filmed in Pasadena California.

As much of stretch as it is, the town is experiencing something similar to that of the movie.

New Jersey recently became a deregulated state, which allows business owners in Pleasantville and throughout the state to choose the cheapest electricity instead of having to settle on just one simply because there are no other suppliers in the area.

The story is about a brother and sister in the 90’s who find themselves stuck in a 1950s sitcom and because it’s an old-fashioned show, everybody and everything around them is colorless. They’re all black and white.

As time goes by, some individuals discover color, and are themselves colored like they were in the normal life in the 1990s.

Having color is something nobody would have thought about had they not seen it before, and being able to choose an electric company is a new concept that many people don’t think about until they’re faced with the situation.

Don’t let this throw you off, and don’t just take the first one offered to you without doing research first.

You can shop and compare different rates in your area before choosing the one that suits you best.
