Garland is l0cated in Dallas and Collin Counties just northeast of Dallas. It has become a major suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth area with a population of about 222,013, making it the 12th most populous city in Texas and the 92nd most populous city in the country.

In 2008, Garland was named one of the top 100 places to live by Money Magazine, landing at No.67.

Arlen, Texas is just a fictional town in Fox’s King of the Hill, but many of its aspects were taken from Garland, Texas.

Mike Judge, the creator of King of the Hill is from Garland and decided to put some of his hometown qualities into the fictional town.

Judge does the voice of Hank Hill, who proudly sells propane and propane accessories for Strickland Propane.

Hank is a true businessman who would love the thought the thought of having an option of choosing the cheapest electricity rate and supplier.

Because Arlen is a fictional town, we’ll never know if it would be deregulated, but Garland is one of many cities in the state to be deregulated, which means its citizens have the right and the ability to choose an electric rate and company.
