Like other cities and towns in California, Stockton is big in the media and entertainment industries. In fact nearly 40 motion pictures have been filmed in Stockton.
In 1999 and in 2004, Stockton received an All-America City award from the National Civic Center.
In 2002, Stockton was named “Best Tree City” in the western United States by Sunset Magazine.
Stockton is also home to 49 city, state and national historical landmarks that date back to 1885, and is home to over 30 annual festivals.
