Reliant Energy prides itself in being active in the community and being more than just another energy provider. We recently learned of how the Texas-based energy company has teamed up with Comcast Cable. Reliant is also providing a chance for Houston residents to beat the heat by offer cooling centers and is sponsoring an event where a lucky Texas Rangers fan can throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Beat the Heat

The term “Beat the Heat” goes beyond the NBA Finals. In this case, it’s referring to Reliant Energy which is helping Houston residents stay cool with “beat the heat” cooling centers in the area.

Each cooling center contains air conditioners as well as activities and movies for children and adults alike. Snacks and drinks will also be provided.

Advisors of Reliant Energy will be in attendance to give people tips on how to decrease their electricity bill and usage.

Doors will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Oct. 5.

The First Pitch

Reliant Energy is a proud sponsor of the back-to-back American League champions Texas Rangers. The energy company is providing more than electricity but also a chance for a lucky fan to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

On top of that, the lucky fan will also be able to bring up to nine friends to share field level seats with and enjoy an autographed Rangers jersey.
