Basic Energy Services to move to Fort Worth

by Donny on June 12, 2012

Basic Energy Services, a Texas-based-energy company is moving its headquarters from Midland to downtown Fort Worth in hopes of using the assets of big city life, including the DFW Airport and others.

Alan Krenek, Basic Energy’s chief financial officer said he expects to fill 100 positions because only about 35 of the effected employees in Midland decided to make the move to Fort Worth.

The company plans to lease about 5,000 square feet in a building expected to go up by Sept. 30 and a staff should be in place by the end of October.

Krenek said the company needs a more central location to be more easily accessed by its customers and employees.

“We were running into labor issues, and it was just real hard to recruit people to move to Midland,” Krenek said.

The fact Fort Worth is also home to several natural gas producers and oil service companies is probably an indication of a good move for Basic Energy Services.
