Scott Fordham, president and chief executive officer, believes the moving into Maryland is a win-win situation.
“Our entry into Maryland’s deregulated electricity markets is a logical next step for Champion Energy,” Fordham told Yahoo News. “We look forward to building on a successful track record in Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio markets as Champion Energy extends its footprint, and our company is excited to bring competitive rates, exceptional customer care and flexible solutions to commercial and industrial customers across Maryland.”
Champion Energy is one of the nation’s fastest-growing energy providers and has never been affiliated with any utility.
Company representatives stress the importance of customer service and place greater emphases on being loyal to customers who are loyal to them.
Like only a handful of other energy companies, Champion has taken advantage of deregulation by offering services to customers in places it wouldn’t otherwise. This is also a win-win because it gives customers yet another option of providers for customers to choose from and it allow the providers to expand their businesses and compete with other providers.
Other energy providers in Maryland are Consolidated Edison, Dominion Retail Inc., Ambit Energy, Direct Energy, and Hudson Energy Services, just to name a few.
