TXU donates trees to park near Houston

by Donny on March 14, 2012

Last year’s drought killed areas throughout the state of Texas, and Juergens Park was no exception. The Tomball Park lost more than 60 trees in the drought, but a couple weeks ago, TXU Energy dedicated 25 new trees.

Tomball Mayor Gretchen Fagan called the program “tremendous” and said residents and visitors of the area will be able to enjoy the new trees for a lifetime.

The trees grow on a tree farm and are part of the company’s “Committed to Community Growth” campaign which started 10 years ago. TXU officials say in those 10 years, the company has donated 170,000 trees throughout the Lone Star State. It was started to be an example of a “good corporate citizen.”

Like other electricity companies in Texas, TXU is constantly doing things to stay active in the community, striving to be more than just an average electricity provider.

To get a rate from TXU Energy, go to the website or call a company representative. Once you do this, you can compare the rates quote to you with the rates we offer on our website. To get our rates, simply type your zip code into our compare box on the homepage and the compare page. Then choose a residential or commercial rate and click “compare”. If you’re searching for a long-term residential rate of more than six months, we suggest you select a fixed rate over a variable rate. This will help your monthly energy bills be more consistent so you’ll know how much to expect to pay each month.

After doing all this, if you have any further questions, comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to give us a call anytime at 1-800-971-4020 and one of our expert energy consultants will be more than happy to help you out with all of your electricity needs.
