Green Mountain Energy in Texas and New York

by Donny on March 13, 2012

Green Mountain Energy recently committed to donating $50,000 towards installing a solar array at Riverside Park on the Hudson River in New York. The plan is for the array to provide a scenic destination for residents and tourists and educate them on solar energy while reducing carbon footprints. Green Mountain donated its first installment of $5,000 at a fundraising event.
Other benefits of the new array will include the following:

•    A native wildflower meadow will take the place of an abandoned parking lot.

•    It will provide a great view of the Hudson River.

•    It will serve as a model for other parks’ improvements.

Customers of Green Mountain electric company also have the option of supporting the cause financially by donating and extra $5 on their monthly bills.

Green Mountain services multiple states. Just this year, it celebrated its 10th anniversary of business in Texas. When Texas became deregulated 10 years ago, it opened up the opportunity for Green Mountain Energy to provide business for electricity customers in the Lone Star State.

If you live in a deregulated area in Texas or another deregulated state, Green Mountain Energy might be an option for you. To find out, simply type your zip code into our compare box found on our home page and compare page, then choose residential or commercial, and click the compare button. This will show you our rates, with the cheapest deals at the top. If you’re looking for a long-term residential rate of over six months, we suggest you select a fixed rate over a variable rate because it will help your monthly bills be more consistent.

For any other questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to give us a call anytime at 1-800-971-4020 and one of our energy consultants will be more than happy to help you find an electric rate plan which fits all of your needs.
