Wow, I can’t believe it’s already November. That means the holidays are approaching as is an extremely cold winter. Winter means doing pretty much the exact opposite of what we’ve been doing for the last five months or so. Instead of running the air conditioner on full blast, we’ve got to turn on the heat and maybe even make a fire in the fire place from time to time.
For those living in the south, winter usually means less money for the electricity bill because it takes less effort to stay warm in the winter than it does to stay cool in the summer. In summer months, wearing shorts and a t-shirt only goes so far in staying cool in the summer, but wearing extra layers in winter is definitely a plus.
Remember the Seinfeld episode when George Costanza does the exact opposite of what he would have otherwise done? It all seemed to work for him when he went against his gut instinct. Maybe applying this method would work in terms of energy. What you would normally do in the summer months, do just the opposite of that in winter months. This will help you stay at a comfortable temperature and it may help you see the cheapest electricity bill you’ve seen in a long time.
It’s actually quite amazing, even the something like the direction of a ceiling fan is the opposite in winter.
