Killing Electricity in Killeen

by Donny on June 30, 2011

Killeen, Texas is located in the central portion of the state, about 70 miles north of Austin, 27 miles west of Temple, and about 62 miles north of Waco.

Its population jumped from 119,510 in 2009 to 127,921 in 2010.

The city is most famous for being home to the Fort Hood Military base.

One major benefit to living in Killeen that often gets overlooked is the fact local residents can choose the cheapest electricity rates and providers for their commercial businesses.

In 2001, Texas became a deregulated state which means if you’re a current or future resident of Killeen or another deregulated area of the state you can shop and compare the cheapest electricity companies and prices and then sign up with whichever supplier has the best rates.

To begin the process, simply type your zip code into our compare box, select ‘residential’ or ‘commercial’ then click the compare button.

Many famous people have lived in Killeen at one time or another. Tommie Harris of the Chicago Bears attended Ellison High School in Killeen, actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and actor Burt Reynolds each lived in Killeen at one point. Singer Elvis Presley and MLB Legend Jackie Robinson were each stationed at Fort Hood.
