Brownsville Texas Electricity

by Donny on June 28, 2011

Brownsville, Texas is in the southernmost part of Texas in Cameron County. Its population of about 175,023 makes it the 16th largest city in the state and the third largest city among the Texas and Mexico border.

It’s located about 60 miles southeast of McAllen and about 160 miles south of Corpus Christi.

Residents get a true taste of both the Mexican and American cultures as the town is right on the border. Being that close to a foreign country can definitely have its pros and cons, but one pro for Brownsville residents is the right and the ability to choose the cheapest electricity rates and providers for their homes and business.

The state of Texas has been deregulated for a decade now which means if you’re a current or future resident of Brownville or another deregulated area, you can shop and compare multiple electric rates and providers before signing up with whichever deal best fits your situation.

To get started, just type your zip code into our compare box, select ‘commercial’ or ‘residential’ and click the compare box. If you’re looking for a long term residential rate, we suggest you choose a fixed rate because it will help your energy bill be more consistent.

If you’re still in need of further information, feel free to call us anytime at 1-800-971-4020 to speak to one of our expert energy consultants.

The city is home to University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southernmost College.
