Ambit Energy Suit Filed for $1 Billion

by admin on May 27, 2011

Ambit Energy is being sued by one of its own energy consultants.

Nicole Gubin filed a lawsuit last Monday claiming the company discriminated against her and broke her contract. She filed for $1 billion to earn money for compensation damages, punitive damages, liquidated damages and an attorney’s fee.

Gubin claims the company was operating a pyramid scheme and operating false and deceptive practices.

Ambit Energy representative Robin Stevens said company officials still had yet to look over the review and that Gubin was still listed as a company consultant.

Gubin claims to have been falsely accused of violating company policies and was therefore no longer allowed to access the company website and could therefore no longer recruit customers for the company.

Ambit Energy is a Dallas-based company that buys natural gas and electricity and then distributes it to consumers in Texas, New York and other deregulated states.

This type of negative publicity likely won’t help Ambit Energy, and many people already think of the company as being a scam.

Regardless of what happens, it probably won’t have any effect on the consumers, and Ambit may or may not be the company for you.

If you’re living in an energy deregulated area, you can shop and compare multiple rates and providers to get the cheapest electricity for your home or business. To begin, simply type your zip code into our compare box, select ‘commercial’ or ‘residential’, then click the compare button.
