Beaumont, Texas Electricity

by Donny on May 20, 2011

Beaumont, Texas is located off Interstate 10 in Jefferson County, about 87 miles east of Houston. Its population is about 118,296.

Beaumont has been home to the South Texas State Fair since 1907.

The town was settled in 1824 when Noah and Nancy Tevis settled on the west bank of the Neches River and organized a farm. In the days following, a small community grew around that farm and eventually became the town it is today.

One thing that today’s residents can enjoy is the right to choose the cheapest electricity rates for their homes and businesses.

In 2001, Texas became deregulated, which means if you’re a resident of Beaumont and you’re looking for a new electricity rate and provider, you can shop and compare rates and companies before selecting the best option.

To begin, simply type your zip code into our compare box, choose a ‘commercial’ or ‘residential’ rate and click ‘compare.’

If you’re looking a long-term-residential rate, it’s recommended you select a fixed rate instead of a variable rate because this way, it will be more consistent and you’ll know what to expect from month-to-month.

Beaumont has served home to many famous people at one time or another including the following:

Jerry Ball, former NFL player; Kevin Millar, former MLB player; Kendrick Perkins, NBA player; Frank Robinson; baseball Hall of Famer; and many more.
The town also serves home to Lamar University.
