Plano: How to Plan”o” and Shop for Energy

by Donny on May 2, 2011

Plano, Texas has a population of about 273,611 which makes it the 69th largest city in the United States and the ninth largest city in the state of Texas.

The city is considered a Dallas suburb as it is just 17 miles north, just off Highway 75.

Several major corporations have their headquarters located in Plano, including Dell, HP, Dr Pepper, Frito-Lay and several more.

On more than occasion, Plano has been recognized as a great place to live.

In 2005, CNN Money Magazine ranked it the best place to live in the Western United States. In 2006, it was named the 11th Best Place to live in the entire United States.

Perhaps a major contributor that makes it such a great place to live is the Texas electricity service.

In 2001, Texas became deregulated which means residents throughout the state have the right and the ability to choose the cheapest electricity rates and providers for their home and/or business.

Texas’ electricity service allows you to shop and compare rates and providers before signing up with whichever deal best fits your situation.

To begin, simply type your zip code into our compare box, select ‘residential’ or ‘commercial’ and click ‘compare.’

If you’re looking for a long-term-residential rate, it’s highly recommended you select a fixed rate instead of a variable rate because it will be more consistent and you’ll know what to expect from month-to-month.

Once you do all this, if you have any further questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to give us a call anytime at 1-800-971-4020 to speak to one of our expert energy consultants.

Several famous people have made their homes in Plano at one time or another, including Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famers Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders and seven-time Tour De France winner Lance Armstrong.
