by Donny on March 30, 2011

Evanston, Illinois is a suburban of Chicago located in Cook County, just 10 miles north downtown Chicago. Its population of about 74,360 the makes it the 13th-largest city in the state.

The town might be most famous for being home to Northwestern University and Northshore University Health System.

Illinois is one of several states to have become deregulated in recent years, which means its residents can choose the cheapest electricity rates and providers for their commercial businesses.

The deregulation opens up competition among the electric companies which means the consumers have many more option than they did before the deregulation.

If you own or manage a business in the Evanston area or another area in a deregulated state, you have the right and the ability to shop and compare the rates and providers in your area before selecting whichever one works best for you.

Simply type your zip code into our compare box and select ‘commercial.’

Shortly after the town was founded, many people called it “Heavenston” because of its strong Methodist influence. For that same reason, it later earned the nickname “The City of Churches.”

It has also commonly been called “E-Town.”
